Dale Phillips

Director of Experiential Therapy

Dale Phillips brings decades of experience in horsemanship and equine‑assisted therapy to Plum Creek Recovery Ranch. From his early years working with horses and livestock, he developed a deep respect for the healing power of caring for animals — and a belief that hands‑on work can reach places talk therapy alone can’t. Over the years, he has built and led trusted equine therapy programs at treatment centers across Tennessee, Mississippi, and Georgia.

Today at Plum Creek, Dale ensures every part of the program stays grounded in purpose: real work that leads to real change. He designs interactions with horses and the land to help patients rebuild trust, set healthy boundaries, and confront past trauma in a safe, supportive space. The rescued and rehabilitated horses he works with often become a powerful bridge for patients who are rebuilding their lives from the ground up.

Beyond the ranch, Dale supports the broader recovery community — leading support groups for veterans and co‑founding a nonprofit that helps children of those struggling with addiction pay for college. In his free time, he enjoys showing cutting horses and spending moments with his wife and four children.
