Dale Phillips

Director of Experiential Therapy

Dale Phillips at Plum Creek Recovery Ranch

Dale Phillips oversees all aspects of experiential therapy as a central dimension of patient care at Plum Creek Recovery Ranch — from equine work to movement, outdoor, and hands-on therapeutic activities. He brings decades of experience in horsemanship and experiential programming, having led trusted equine therapy initiatives at treatment centers across Tennessee, Mississippi, and Georgia.

Dale’s approach is grounded in the understanding that real work — with the land, with animals, with one’s own body — can break down barriers that talk therapy alone may not reach. At Plum Creek, he designs experiential programming to help patients rebuild trust, set healthy boundaries, and process trauma in a safe, supportive environment. The rescued and rehabilitated horses he works with often form a powerful connection for those learning to rebuild their lives.

Beyond the ranch, Dale leads support groups for veterans in recovery and co-founded a nonprofit that helps children of those struggling with addiction pay for college. He enjoys showing cutting horses and spending time with his wife and four children.
